Platkin announced that the State Board of Medical Examiners has permanently revoked the medical license of Dr. Muhammad A. Mirza. Mirza, a board-certified internist from Cedar Grove, faced allegations of performing invasive aesthetic procedures with inadequate training, posing imminent danger to patients. Dr. Mirza performed various costly procedures through his practice, “Mirza Aesthetics,” often in makeshift spaces across several states.

Authorities began investigating Mirza in 2021 after numerous consumer complaints. Findings revealed gross deviations from medical standards, including inappropriate use of dermal fillers, inadequate storage of medical supplies, and performing procedures in unsuitable conditions. One significant case involved permanent physical harm to a patient from a penile injection, highlighting the severe consequences of his actions.

Mirza eventually agreed to the permanent revocation of his license to resolve the allegations.
